Meet Dr. Barbour
Dr. Barbour was born and raised near Grand Rapids, MI. After completing her undergraduate and graduate studies in Michigan, she joined the McLean/MGH Psychiatry Training Program at Harvard Medical School, where she eventually served as Chief Resident. Following her residency, she received the Harvard Dupont-Warren Fellowship, which supported her advanced training in neuroimaging.
Currently, Dr. Barbour serves as an Instructor in Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School, the Medical Director of the Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) Clinic at Massachusetts General Hospital, and the founder and program director of the Neuromodulation Fellowship program. She has extensive experience in using ketamine to treat depression and completed specialized training in ketamine-assisted psychotherapy at the Ketamine Training Center.
In addition, Dr. Barbour is active in teaching and training residents, fellows, and other physicians about TMS treatments through her role as the training director and neuromodulation rotation director. She is also involved in the Clinical TMS Society, serving on the Executive, Research, Training/Education, and Clinical Standards Committees. Her expertise spans various areas of neuromodulation, including electroconvulsive therapy (ECT), TMS, and transcranial direct current stimulation.
Additionally, she is an Associate Editor of the Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation Journal.
